Set 3 – Almond Set (8 Titles)

ALIGNED decodable readers are made to practice a certain amount of skills that children have learned or are learning. They are broken up into 16 sets, each building upon the ones before. The text is found on the right hand side of the page, which the students need to read without the aid of a picture cue. They then turn the page to confirm meaning and build engagement and enjoyment.

Aligned Decodable Sets by Skill

1. Sets are broken up into Sections (i.e. A and B) to show the skills needed for the books to be 100% decodable. Each set has multiple abilities so the reader can grow with practice.
2. Words are listed “out of sequence” if they do not follow the skills listed. These words will need to be introduced to the reader first or have those words read to them.
3. Skills are listed and built upon from one set to the next. All bolded print indicates a new concept/skill/word.
