Written by Christine Hjorth, a teacher certified in Elementary, Early Childhood and Gifted Education, with a combined 22 years of research, writing, tutoring and First Grade in-classroom experience.

Each stage is built on knowledge of specific phonic skills and every stage builds on the ones before.

Each 16 page book has the Phonics Skills and the minimal High-Frequency Words found in the book listed on the back and comprehension questions at the end of each book!

Readers are not able to use picture cues while reading. They either read the sentences alone then turn the page to enjoy the picture and confirm meaning or little to no information is given away from the picture on the page with the sentence.
